Pastor Troy attended Pensacola Christian College where he met his wife Lisa.  After marrying Lisa in 1990, he served God in several churches, including:
Cantonement Baptist Church, Cantonement, FL
Truth Baptist Church, West Salem, OH
Ashland Baptist Temple, Ashland, OH
For many years he served as a lay servant in the Childrens Ministry, Music Ministry, Bus Ministry, etc. He led singing, drove church bus, preached in junior church, and taught Sunday school before becoming the pastor of Ashland Baptist Temple in 2014.  
The church changed its name to Ashland Baptist Church in 2023.
